A regimental/battalion level conflict about the lessen known Alsace campaign (the region around Strasburg, France) concurrent with the Battle of the Bulge. In addition to the military aspect, this includes political events (including perhaps the most derisive decision, almost splitting the French war effort from the American and British goals) and tie-in campaign to Avalanche Press’ companion game America Triumphant. By fall 1944 the German army seemed all but defeated as the Allies advanced steadily across Europe. In late November the Allies liberated the French border city of Strasburg, and were ready to assault the Westwall fortification line to Germany itself. A few weeks later, it was the Germans who were on the offensive. That German attack, officially known in the American army as the Ardennes-Alsace Offensive, had two components. The northern one (the Battle of the Bulge) is already the subject of many games including America Triumphant. The southern campaign is the subject of their Alsace 1945 and presents the rare situation of two opposing offenses in the same region, with the same combatants within a month of each other.
